Professor Shaun Holt, co-founder and Science Director of HoneyLab, was announced as one of 3 finalists in the Sanitarium Innovator of the Year Award, which is a category in the prestigious New Zealander of the Year Awards for 2015.

While Professor Holt has both Pharmacy and Medicine degrees and has used this knowledge to form innovative companies such as P3 Research, which became a valued clinical trials partner for global pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline, is in this case recognized for his work in developing the innovative since pipeline for HoneyLab.

By applying drug development principles to native New Zealand natural resources, HoneyLab has developed a range of products from bees and their environment that can be sold globally to improve the health of many people. HoneyLab have partnered with the world-famous Mayo Clinic in the USA and are in commercialization discussions with a number of global pharmaceutical companies.
